Fall 2025 Annual Appeal

In 1978, nurse Rose Crumb set out to change how we approach our death. She believed that end-of-life care should be personal, compassionate, and free of red tape. So, she created Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County - entirely community-run, unfunded by Medicare, and grounded in neighborly love.

Today, Rose's vision continues. VHOCC provides free hospice and palliative care, grief support, respite for caregivers, medical equipment loans, and community programs like Death Cafes and Remembrance Ceremonies. VHOCC serves hundreds of people across Clallam County every year.

In a time when most hospices operate within larger, for-profit systems, VHOCC offers a unique alternative Community- funded, independent, and fully focused on compassionate care, VHOCC stands out. It is what hospice was meant to be: no billing, no bureaucracy, no barriers.

Your donation keeps this model and Rose's dream alive. It allows the nursing team to focus on care. It allows families to grieve with support. And it honors Rose Crumb's legacy - a legacy rooted in dignity, compassion, and community.

Give today and be part of a different kind of care:
